At Compasion Therapy, your privacy matters. I’m Sheila Arias, a licensed therapist and the founder of Compasion Therapy, and I’m committed to creating a safe, respectful space for your healing—starting with how your information is handled.
Information I Collect
I collect basic personal information when you:
Contact me through the website
Schedule a consultation or session
Become an active client through my secure client portal
This includes your name, email, phone number, and any intake information you choose to share.
How Your Information Is Used
Your information is used solely for:
Communicating about sessions and services
Delivering quality care
Keeping accurate records in line with legal and ethical standards
How Your Information Is Protected
Your records are managed via SimplePractice, a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform. I’m the only one with access to your files, and all data is protected from unauthorized access.
Confidentiality in Therapy
Everything shared in session is confidential and protected under HIPAA guidelines. I’ll always explain any necessary exceptions, such as safety concerns or legal obligations.
🔗 Third-Party Sharing
I do not sell or share your personal information with third parties.
Payments & Insurance
I am a private pay therapist and do not accept insurance. This is a conscious decision to protect the quality of care I offer.
Insurance companies often:
Require a mental health diagnosis
Restrict the number or type of sessions
Limit culturally grounded and trauma-informed work
Because I work deeply with first-gen and BIPOC individuals and couples, flexibility and confidentiality are essential.
If you have out-of-network benefits, I can provide monthly superbills or submit claims on your behalf to your insurance company to help you get reimbursed.
Your Consent
By using this site or submitting a contact form, you consent to the terms in this privacy policy.
